Voccoli "Bridgecasters" are not your ordinary barncasters. They're from the "other side of the bridge," all hand made in Brooklyn, New York. Using reclaimed, salvaged and eco-friendly materials, they embody both the vintage and the modern, the antique but ever changing aspects of the historic borough. Our "Drunken Tele" series (or "Wine-O-Caster," if you prefer) sounds just like what it is - these guitars sport a genuine red wine finish. It ain't just a name, folks. The freshly sanded pine bodies are submerged in a vat of red wine (in this case, a 2006 merlot) and left soaking until they absorb the color. They are then air dried before being treated with vintage gunstock oils and shellac. This process gives the guitar bodies a distinct red pigment that you just can't get any other way. This two piece pine esquire-style guitar features a single Golden Age telecaster bridge pickup with Eldridge custom shop wiring to allow the player to get multiple sounds out of one pickup. The control plate is inverted for easy access to the volume and tone controls. The neck is a single piece of hard rock maple with a rosewood fingerboard. Unlike most telecasters, this guitar has a Les Paul scale length for a different feel. The tuners are genuine Grover 6-in-a-line mini rotomatics.
