Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked. Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired. We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale. We have tried to describe it as it is, and are happy to answer any questions asked. #100/2016Up for sale is a 1955 FE Olds & Son 'Recording' Tenor Professional Trombone. Manufactured in Fullerton, Calif. Dual slide bore .495/.510, with a 8" diameter bell flare. It is has a bell made of Rey-O-Loy red brass, nickel alloy outer slide and fluted inners . There are various very faint 'dings', minimal scratching and normal pitting at the slide grips. The slide action is very good with good compression. The stockings on the lower tubes show some flaking and wear-through, but action is still very good...maybe with a slight 'whisper'. This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This trombone comes with a mouthpiece-Olds 3 and is shipped in a used, original case. This horn has a very fast response, excellent intonation and a great tone...very powerful.
