When I return I will ship promptly.  This is a 1975 Flying V. It is probably the nicest vintage player V you'll find for the money. It looks nice, and sounds and plays great.  I purchased this guitar from the best friend of the original owner, in very rough shape, I have done a very good amateur restoration.  Unfortunately, it had been a serious victim of the 80s. It had a locking tremolo installed as well as a locking nut. The pick guard was modified to accommodate the tremolo and pickup rings. The original truss rod cover was cut up to accommodate a locking nut. Fortunately, most of the original parts came with the guitar. The tremolo route and headstock were both professionally repaired by Pete Murano, a former Gibson employee during their golden years. I have pics from the restoration process, and they include the detail of the factory "key" in the crook of the V, as well as some ghosting left on the wood from the original serial number sticker/stamp. At one point it was dropped and split along the center seam, so I also have a pics of the glue up. Please contact me if you would like to see these. This guitar is original where it counts. Original parts include the pat no. stamped pickups, pots, knobs, switch, jack, switch tip, the modified pick guard, wiring, nut, frets, tailpiece anchors, and tailpiece studs. The tuners, pickup covers, and bridge adjuster wheels are period vintage replacements; essentially original. Non original parts include the truss rod cover, bridge studs, screws, and paint. When I stripped the ugly red paint I found the original alpine white still in the pickup and control cavities. I refinished it in nitrocellulose lacquer to mimic an aged alpine white finish.  The finish looks nice. I would give it about a 7.5 out of 10. It has some marks and swirls, and is not perfect under the pick guard. It has sunken a small bit along the repairs and center seam, however it is tough to see this unless you are looking close. It is also very hard to photograph. The finish is glossy bright, and shows very well. The pick guard, in addition to being to being modified, shows a little discoloring here and there that is also hard to photograph. One of the pickup bracket mounting holes stripped, so I repaired it by dripping some solder on it and tapping it. This has been a solid repair, and seemed to be the least invasive way to repair this, and it still accepts the original screw.  Everything works as it should on this guitar. The action is set at 4/64 at the 12th fret on the low E string, and 3/64 on the high E. There is room left to adjust the bridge up or down. The truss rod works fine, and the neck is adjusted just about flat. The neck itself is fairly chunky, and fairly wide. It is very comfortable. The frets have been leveled, polished, and crowned. There is only the slightest twinge of buzz when the strings are strummed hard in the open position. The nut slots are cut nicely. This guitar feels. Ice and is a pleasure to play.  The pickups sound nice and woody, maybe a little flat when played with a clean tone, but with a touch of grit up to screaming overdrive they sound awesome! Add a bit of compression and you're in tone heaven. There is a tiny "scratch" in the bridge volume and tone pot around the 4:00 position. It is barely noticeable.  The original case is included, but it is in very rough condition. The tolex is coming off, and the glue is failing, and the inside is dirty. I will line it with paper or plastic for shipping so the guitar does not get dirty.   All in all, this is a sweet guitar. It's not 100% original and perfect, but you're also not paying the price for  Feel free to contact me and let me know what I can do to make you feel comfortable with this transaction. I have sold guitars online and I pack well and ship promptly.
