10-20s FRENCH BESSON JR Muck Trumpet .459 bore...rare import!!!!!

This is REALLY an interesting horn!!!!....the early French Bessons were so ripped off by just about everyone!!!!!....just look at a Benge, Keefer, Calicchio.......and they were experimented on quite a bit too.....by Holton, Schilke and others early on......so you do see some interesting combo horns......this is one of them with a new twist....Rudy Muck!....JR Muck was his dad and had a retail outlet and did sell horns.....would think he worked on some of them.....as for this horn......first off there is no doubt that this is mostly French Besson......bell has JR MUCK PARIS NEW YORK.....the paris part is the key as maybe that is how they got around the importing problem....and maybe assembling or putting their own bell, leadpipe or other parts on this!....that was a fairly common practice in the 10-20s with blessing valve sections and others....and in fact the first rudy muck horns were blessing.....so......first off...the valves with the cork in the valve tops stopped pretty early so i'm guessing this makes it a 10s horn, i believe that the JR Muck store only lasted into the 20's....there is nothing to say made in France on it other than the Paris on the bell.....the serial is on the 3rd valve casing in a funny place...in the 9xxx range...with 3 marks above it....if you look at the slides all have the pull knobs........and the patches on the 1st and 3rd upper slide tubes....hard to say if original or later, no patches on the bell or leadpipe ....the tuning slide crook is not french besson, very bach like in it's squareness....funky waterkey too!.......bell is pretty thick with a HEAVY bell rim!....which may also be made by Muck....as for the horn, it plays with a VERY nice open tone, nice and broad up and down...due to the bell.....frankly probably don't want to sell this but i'm pricing it so that it won't make me sad if it sells...and if it doesn't then it goes in the stable...which is a bit crowded....there are a couple of dings here and there, bell has had some dents out....looks like one brace has been brazed....it's possible this horn has been reconditioned at some point, valves are actually pretty tight....marked 19/20/21...as are the bottom caps.....very boring finger hook, probably not original .. has had chem clean/ultrasonic.......new felts/corks.....will come in a non descript casePAYMENT EXPECTED IN 3 DAYS.....PLEASE contact me ahead of time if you need to be outside that timeframe!!!!CONTACT ME WITH QUESTIONS and please visit my other auctions!US.....depending on location PRIORITY Mail $20-40
