For sale is this USA Hamer Artist Flametop made in the Hamer Custom Shop in New Hartford, CT in 1996. For those of you who don’t know much about Hamer USA, they were the self-proclaimed “original boutique custom shop”, and had been hand-crafting electric guitars since 1973 until their doors permanently closed in 2012. Their quality has long been known to formidably compete with the likes of Gibson and PRS at a fraction of the price, and this ’59 Burst Artist is no exception: one-piece pattern-grade semi-hollow Mahogany body with a thick carved AAAA Maple top, Schaller tuners, rosewood fingerboard with 22 nickel-silver frets on a 14” radius, and a pair of Seymour Duncan ’59 Zebra Humbuckers. This guitar is very resonant and acoustically loud, and weighs in at under 8 lbs! Being a 90’s Hamer, the “vintage carve” neck has more of a “60’s slim” profile than the chunkier necks they were making in their more recent years. These Hamer guitars are an outstanding value, and are one of the “best-kept secrets” in the guitar world. This one has been played and does show signs of play wear (see detailed photos), but is in overall good condition for a guitar that is over 20 years old. Comes with Hamer hardshell case.
