After 22 years it's with a sad heart that have come to the conclusion that it is time to part ways with one of my highest quality center pieces.  This guitar is one of the premier additions to my collection and has been one of my favorite six strings for over two decades.  I have decided to part with it because at the time I bought it, I was in my late teens and just starting to play with any seriousness.  Over the years my style has developed to give me a very specific right hand application.  Unfortunately, this guitar (being a soloist) has a high set volume knob (placed for easy volume swells with the fourth finger on the right hand) that tends to impede my play style.  As a result, this guitar has become more of an ornament than performance piece.  I'm currently building a recording studio and need to repair my favorite Les Paul so rather than using this as a pretty picture on a wall, I thought it might be time to let someone use it the way it was meant to be.  A little about this gem.  This guitar came into my possession when I was 18.  It was bought brand new so is a one owner item.  Shortly after purchase I replaced the pickups.  I do not like the presence drop of a strat single coil from a full double coil.  So to compensate, I added Seymour Duncan double coil pickups in a single coil space (no cutting or chopping was necessary to accommodate this).  It helped but never was satisfactory to me.  The neck pick up is the warmest smoothest set I could find as I was trying to mimic the warmth and tone of a Gibson.  The base pick up is the second hottest I could find giving this a beastly shred that can play anything from blues and jazz (I actually used it in jazz band in high school), all the way up to the most blistering thrash tones of Slayer or Pantera.  Between all three pickups and the 5 point selector switch, to say this has a wide variety of tones is an understatement.
The tremolo is the original Jackson Floyd Rose License.  Once tuned and locked down, no amount of use will put this thing out of tune.  I have pushed the bar to the body and held the weight of the guitar up by the strings to test this.  When the tremolo is released, the intonation is spot on.The shark fin inlays and "Jackson Made in the U.S.A". logo are a pearl that give an iridescent sparkle when moving around under the lights of a stage.  Many years ago, the Jackson logo flaked off.  When I contacted Jackson about it, they informed me that there was a number of these that had a defective application to the face plate.  I returned it to Jackson and they repaired it free of charge (one of the reasons I really love Jackson Guitars).  So you will NOT have to worry about the face plate coming off due to normal use if that has been a problem for you in the past. As you can see in the pictures, the body is shiny enough to clearly see the reflection of my hand as I held the camera.  Some normal pick wear around the center pick ups and the volume knob but not enough to effect the finish and easily removed with a bit of surface polish and elbow grease. Both Allen keys are in place on the back of the headstock.
The case.....  I am a firm believer in taking stellar care of guitars by using the case to protect them.  This case has seen a bit of wear.  The case itself is in decent shape but one the latches is gone completely and another is coming off.  The case will go with the guitar.  The action on this guitar is stupid close to the frets without having any fret buzz whatsoever.  Currently I have D'addario light top heavy bottoms on this guitar with it set to standard E tuning.  If a lighter set is desired and or a different intonation, let me know and I will put the new strings on and set the action before I ship. The only thing that a new owner might notice when first receiving is that the volume knob and the 5 point selector switch can give off a bit of static.  This is from patina building up on the connections due to lack of use.  However, after about an hour of playing on it this goes away pretty quick.  I also use a compressed air can to blow a bit of the dust off and that helps as well.      Let me clarify that I am not in a hurry to sell this and will not be heart broken in the slightest to keep it around.  The price is firm but I'm not opposed to discussion or debate on the topic.  If you would like a close up of any part of this guitar let me know and I will do my best to provide the requested images.  If you would like to hear a bit of this guitar being played, I can make a short recording and send it to your phone, just bear in mind that there will be some tone loss when recording on an iPhone.
