Up for sale is late 50's Silvertone Archtop that was originally sold as an acoustic guitar. These guitars were made and sold from 1958 to 1960. I had the guitar professionally converted to be an electric archtop similar to an early 1950s Gibson ES 350. The guitar is in good shape but does have some dings a scratches with a little bit of checking in the finish due to age. The neck is straight as an arrow, the neck joint is super solid, the pickups are Lollar standard wind P-90s that sound fantastic. The pickups are out of phase so when both are on they provide the T-Bone Walker "quack"..... If you play blues, swing or rockabilly you will love this guitar. The volume and tone knobs are actual vintage 1950s or 1960s Silvertone/Harmony "cupcake" style knobs. The tuning machines are Tone Pro Kluson style tuners. I did have a support post added inside the guitar to help with feedback and it makes a huge difference in the sound. The top of the guitar is very solid and overall the guitar is in good shape. It comes with a period correct brown chipboard case that is in nice condition. Please email with any questions~!!! |
