This guitar was made in 2003 at the Fuji-gen plant, located in the mountain town of Matsumoto, near the base of Mount Fuji in Japan.
Ibanez is one of the leading guitar makers in the world, and their name is synonymous with the best quality you can get.
According to the Ibanez wiki, the Prestige series is a quality label indicating that the guitar is built to higher standards than normal, using better components and unique features, when compared to standard models. On the hierarchy of Ibanez models, the Prestige sits above the Premium series, and just below the J Custom series, so in other words, this is the best Ibanez you can get without going to the custom.
This guitar has been used in the studio, and has been well cared for during its 14 years in existence. It's still in great shape. It looks great, plays great, and has a terrific Ibanez sound. This particular model has the V7 / LS / V8 pickup configuration, which provides a full-bodied, super hot sound.
The wood on this guitar has aged perfectly and straight, so there won't be any warping problems to deal with, like you could find on newer guitars. Now that the wood has yellowed substantially, you will also find that the resonance of the instrument is much more bold than when it was new.
This guitar has been used for years of studio work, so there are tiny blemishes to be aware of. First, and most notable, the top back of the body has one chip. Secondly, the back of the body has tiny scratches in the finish near the neck mount. That's about it! This guitar is in great shape.
