This item is a one of a kind baritone guitar (halfway in scale (30") and tuning (B) between a standard guitar and bass). Danelectro didn't make very many longhorn baritones. They were reissued briefly in the '00s I think - they are pretty hard to find and come in only a few colors - gold, dark red. The short-scale bass and baritone have the same base body - both 30" scale. I bought this as an aquaburst short scale bass from the '90s(?) and converted it to baritone guitar. To convert you need to add two tuners, change the nut, change the bridge, and adjust the truss rod and intonate the bridge. You absolutely cannot find an aquaburst Danelectro baritone guitar since they were not made to my knowledge. You might be able to find a Jerry Jones aquaburst baritone for twice the price of this listing. In converting this instrument to baritone, a lot was upgraded. The flimsy rosewood bridge was replaced with an Allparts chrome bridge with individual string adjustment for intonation and radius. The budget "big D" tuners of this era (open tuners with a plastic cover) were replaced with Kluson style button tuners with a cream plastic button that goes great with the finish. The metal nut was cut by a professional tech who did the extensive setup, which cost $100. Springs were added under the pickups, to get them closer to the strings. These lipstick pickups sound fantastic but they need to be close to the strings since they have no pole pieces. It's a shame most people haven't heard them adjusted to where they sound best. They also have a high output set like this and a sparkly, round, full body sound. I was easily able to dial in a fantastic baritone sound with my VOX AC30.This is a really fun and inspiring instrument that is one of a kind. All parts and work done to it are all high quality and you will not be disappointed! more:The bridge and nut are Allparts and the strings are D'Addario XL medium baritone strings - like new, only installed, stretched and put into reliable tune. I prefer the B-B tuning - as in, a fifth below E-E standard guitar. I can give you the parts to convert it back to bass if you might want to do that one day. Please look at pictures to determine condition.Small cosmetic issues:-peeling vinyl edging near the neck pocket. (You can buy replacement vinyl edging for Danos on eBay)-small dings on the headstock, horns, and edges-tiny fractures in the paint near one neck screw and the underside of the bridge screws-the pickguard is missing - I tried to get a replacement but the holes didn't line up.
