Fender Telecaster Classic Series '69 Thinline MIM Shell Pink  I’m selling my Shell Pink ‘69 Thinline Tele. I’ve had this for a couple of years & nursed it back to health. When I bought it the seller described it as "Working, just about. Played and gigged hard"! It was dirty, the volume pot didn’t work properly, the neck pickup was hanging loose, the bridge saddle screws had screwed up tops & could barely be turned, & it was greatly in need of a fret stone & dress. So I got the frets professionally stoned & dressed, & you can see from the pics that he did a nice job. For some strange reason Fender Mexico sent these Teles out with 1Meg pots which made them sound far too bright, so both pots have been replaced by the standard 250ks. The bridge saddles now all have new screws of the correct height so they don’t cut into the hand. And the pickups are now properly adjustable again There are loads of Mexican ‘69 Thinline Teles around in natural mahogany finish, but very few in custom colours. These were only made around 2001 in various pastel colours, & Fender say that only 15 in each colour were made. Any yet the list of colours I got doesn’t include Shell Pink, & Fender claim that the body is mahogany yet this one looks like ash to me…. So who knows? So there aren’t many of these around. This one is set up nicely with 10-46 strings & plays & sounds great. Weight is only 5lbs 13oz. It comes with the Stagg case in the pics. The only real problems with it are the damage to the paintwork on the body, & also the top E tuner is slightly bent though it still works properly. Please look at the pics carefully – there are various marks on the fretboard & on the body. I think that the crack on the front of the body is just a finish crack, but please check the pics & decide for yourself. The only reason I’m selling is that I have found one in blue, & pink really isn’t my colour! These are the specs from Fender: Model Name: ‘69 Telecaster® Thinline  Model Number: 013-6902-(Color#)

Pics here: You are welcome to come and see the guitar if you live locally (I’m in North London). Also, while I will post and accept PayPal, collection is fine. Payment in cash only please if you're collecting. Thanks The shipping price is for mainland UK (insured). I will ship worldwide, but the cost of P&P outside the UK will depend on the buyer's location - please e.mail me for a shipping quote. The buyer may also be liable to pay customs charges on international shipments (outside of the EU). If you wish to make me an offer, it’s best to send me a message before making the offer so I know who you are. eBay’s rather strange system hides that information from sellers. For example, if I know that you will be paying me cash on collection, I will be more inclined to consider an offer than if you intend to pay via Paypal, because of Paypal’s high fees. Also, due to a bad experience in the past, please have at least 10 positive feedback scores before buying or making an offer.  Thanks. Any questions, please send me a message.   EDIT:  I have received a helpful message from someone else who owns one of these guitars.  He tells me that:"It is actually one of 5 auto colours . 500 made . 100 of each colour! It is 2002 ( first digit is date.) .... I read somewhere that the bodies were sprayed in custom shop before being shipped to Mexico for assembly"So thanks for the information Pete. 100 made in each colour makes far more sense to me than 15 of each, though I have no idea why Fender's own information about these guitars is so unreliable.  I'm afraid that I don't believe the various stories that often go around about Mexican guitars being "finished in the Custom Shop" (seems very unlikely to me), but I'm passing the information on so that people can make up their own mind, & investigate further if they wish.
