Powered by Frooition Pro Fender Hellecaster Jerry Donahue Stratocaster Limited Edition Guitar w/ Case Item Description 1997 Fender Limited Edition Shop Jerry Donohue Hellcasters Stratocaster Electric Guitar in very good condition with light playwear and a fair amount of small dents and dings on the front and back around and on the edges. Very cool Blue Burst finish with an equally cool black pickguard that has blue metal flake mixed in. The guitar has a nice action and the one-piece maple neck with a profile similar to but not as thick as a '52 Tele "U", MOP dots and "Hellcasters" inlays has a great vintage feel. The medium jumbo sized frets are in very good condition with very mild playwear. The pickups and electronics are what sets this guitar apart from all others. The bridge pickup is a custom designed Tele voiced pickup with symmetrically staggered polepieces that is surrounded by a steel "toneplate" under the pickguard. The electronics feature a custom circuit with the middle tone control being replaced with a two way switch. In the first position the guitar is like a traditional Strat 5-way. In the second position the custom 5-way switching that gives you the best of the Strat plus more with a bit of Tele tones with a filter on the neck pickup in some of the combinations. Here is how the switching works: Position 1) The Bridge PU. Position 2) The Middle PU and the Neck PU with the neck pickup filter (that takes out just a bit of the bottom end). This gives an enhanced "quack tone". Position 3) The Bridge PU and the Neck PU without the filter, in parallel, like a stock Tele in the middle switch position. Position 4) Bridge, Middle and Neck PU with the Neck PU filter. Position 5) The Neck PU without the filter. The guitar is equipped with a vintage style bridge that has six steel block saddles and vintage style tuners. This is a very nice playing, looking Strat with added tones that are very cool and unobtainable with other Strats and Teles. You get the best of both worlds in one instrument. These guitars were a limited edition and are becoming rare and sought after, grab this one while you can! Comes with a nice hard shell case and a brochure about the guitar.
