Beautiful 1969 Vintage Gibson SG standard.I bought this SG from a renowned Vintage Guitar dealer in the USA a few years ago and it's a wonderful example of a late 60's SG. This has the lovely short angled bout and slim neck, from 1970 they changed to the deep bout and chunkier neck - Nowhere near as nice to play in my opinion.She's in superb condition for a 48 year old guitar and apart from the original owner removing the nylon saddles (replaced with steel) is 100% stock and untouched. The case is the original one and the tolex is a little tatty in places but the case is sound and has a band stencil that was added in the 1970's in the USA.I had the original frets lightly re-crowned just after I got it and it plays beautify with a really low action with no choking at all, it really is effortless to play.The pots date from 1969 and as you can see the control cavity is 100% untouched incl all solder joints. The PAF's sound amazing the trem works great. There are no breaks or cracks to the neck joint or headstock whatsoever.The cherry finish looks incredible, she's been very well looked after and has aged wonderfully, she has that lovely vintage cherry that Gibson just can't seem to recreate on the re-issues. I can spend ages just looking at this guitar!Has a few dings and the odd mark around the edges but is overall a very, very clean example, if you are looking for a late 60's SG that's top notch this is the one! I'll be very sad to see her go. Don't spend silly money on a modern re-issue - buy the real thing.
