Rare and amazing sounding drum here.
Two piece shell - welded at the centre bead. Same shell as a black beauty.
This came to me with the useless tango hoop-mounted strainer, so I had Newby Drums (a Yamaha and Noble and Cooley accredited drum repairer/restorer/CNC engineering whizz) install a new Ludwig Piccolo strainer, butt, wires and nickel on brass hoop clips, with no 'extra' holes.
Six lugs, so nice and open sounding. Jim Keltner, Matt Chamberlain, Kenny Aronoff, John Robinson etc all use these 15" Ludwigs in the studio. The larger diameter allows you to have a fatter/lower pitch without losing stick response, as you would with a detuned 14" drum. In good condition, with new heads.
Fits easily on all stands and in 14" protection racket/hardcase cases. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3J-dLf5svEg
