Awesome Spring gift for this jazz year / season and more years to come. This is time capsule almost museum quality ! One owner preserved over the decades ! Hard to find a better shape Vintage Martin Committee Bb Trumpet from mid 1940s #15xxxx ! choice of the Jazz legends like Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Dorham and much more artists. Made in the USA in the mid 1940s during the best era for these horns and best gift. Minimal wear in just few small spots on original finish. It's a near mint all original condition horn hard to come by these days. It is a medium most popular bore great for any venue / studio and easy to blow preserving energy of the player during long sets and gigs. This medium bore horn from mid 1940s era does not vary much in playability from large bore and it is a big energy saver during longer playing sessions / gigs comparing with large bore Committee. Considering that sound of the trumpet spreads around the room and gets bigger before reaching the audience members slight differnces between bores can't be really heard or determined. On medium bore sound has even more core because player has more power to push it or let it go and practically play the horn with very low energy/air levels . On the end the bore of the horn does not really matter. Horn comes with all original Martin 10 mouthpiece , original lyre, great vintage case which appears to be original but vary in design from other Martin cases. It is safer as it does have the spot for valve section on the interior which prevents horn from movement around inside of the case. Exterior has like an alligator / lizard brown pattern which looks very effective . Case is in excellent shape with perfect latches and handle as well. Original warranty card with same #15xxxx range serial number as the horn is included as well as vintage Christmas Carols book is included.
