That's the thinking behind Fender's new American Deluxe Strat Plus. This guitar is basically three Stratocasters in one, and you can switch between them on the fly. Fender did this by integrating a new "personality card" system in the back of the guitar. It's a little compartment that houses one of three cards. Changing the card re-wires the guitar to a different Strat sound. Fender includes cards for traditional, "cutter" (treble and bass cut), and "blender" (neck and bridge blend), and it takes about thirty seconds to change them up. Everything else about this guitar is what you'd expect out of a great American Deluxe - super comfortable neck, quality pickups, and immaculate build construction. Electronically, this Strat is decked out with three tried and true Noiseless N3 Single-Coil Strat pickups. But it's the new "personality card" system and solderless electronics that lie at the heart of this Strat. In short, you can re-wire this guitar in seconds.
