Hi and thanks for checking out our Listing for1980 Gibson Explorer E2 Electric Guitar – Refinished in Heritage CherryIn near mint condition. The guitar has been refinished, please see the full description for all the details.Supplied with:Owner’s ManualGibson Hard CaseOriginal Gold hardwareOne of the iconic guitars from the 70's/80's. This guitar came out of the factory in 1980 and was originally natural, but has been given a full makeover and is now finished in cherry, with black hardware. The re-finish has had "no expenses spared" and is a very professional display of excellent craftsmanship, which I would suggest is better than Gibson could do themselves. The laquer flow is glass like and the only blemish is where the old strap button was on the back. Otherwise, it is perfect throughout. The original Gold hardware is included in the case and can be re-fitted by the new owner if desired, however, the black hardware goes well with this finish.Pickups are original with 1979 dates on the underside, the pots are original. The selector switch was changed in keeping with the new black hardware (original switch included).   In all, thanks to the highly professional refinish and setup, this is one of the best examples available on the market today.Serial No:  800200XXMade at the Kalamazoo Plant, USAJanuary 2nd, 1980  Viewing is welcome as is collection. Please give us a call on: 01273 516246 or 07779 886551 if you would like to talk to someone in personWe operate the HMRC Margin Scheme for VAT purposes, Vat is not reclaimable All Mainland UK postage includes insurance cover, tracking and requires a signature on receipt.  Please Note: Some Scottish Postcode areas are subject to a Fedex Surcharge.  Please contact us with your postcode before purchase to confirm Postage Costs.
