Analog String Synthesizer mit analoger String / Synthesizer / Orgel Sektion Der SK-30 ähnelt nicht nur vom äußeren dem CS-40M bzw. CS-70M. Der SK-30 hat einen sehr edlen und warmen analogen Klang, sein VCF ist dem Filter der berühmten CS-Serie klanglich sehr ähnlich. Im SK-30 steckt weit mehr als nur ein Stringmachine á la Arp Solina String Ensemble. Mittels der Synthesizer Einheit lassen sich die analogtypischen 70's Synth Sounds erzeugen und die klingen allesamt einzigartig gut und genau wie man es von einem solchen Gerät erwartet. Der SK-30 ist wie die CS Serie sehr hochwertig verarbeitet. Für Orgelfans bietet der SK-30 neben der internen Leslie Similation einen echten 11-pin Leslie Anschluß auf der Rückseite. Die Tastatur des SK-30 ist auch unter heutigen Gesichtpunkten erstklassig und läßt sich sehr angenehm spielen. Ebenso fühlen sich alle Bedienelemente smooth und hochwertig an. Yamaha hat damals wie heute absolute Qualitätsgeräte geschaffen. Der SK-30 ist ein Instrument für Fans echt analoger Sounds. Der Klang des SK-30 ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Insgesamt ein Gerät was neben seinem hochwertigen Sound einen hohen Spaßfaktor bietet.
The SK-30 was meant to provide full polyphonic keyboard with Yamaha superb organ and synth technology, enriched by the voltage controlled filter that sounds similar to VCF of famous CS series. It is ideal for lush orchestral, organ and pad sounds. This series successfully stood the competition of such famous analogs as ARP Omni, Solina and Roland Paraphonic Strings. The SK-30 combines three independent sections: an excellent organ section with several harmonics controllable by potentiometers (similar to drawbar controls), a simplified string section, and quite good polyphonic synth section.
The synth section has a VCF with a resonance that can be modulated by a full ADSR envelope, and an extra control for contouring the loudness. There are several useful controls that will help you program your sounds and combinations, and to add the necessary expression. All three sections can be mixed together to produce really rich orchestral sounds. Ideal for real players, who will not find the lack of MIDI as an insurmountable obstacle for using this keyboard. Yamaha SK-30 represents a considerable rarity and a nice supplement to every analog collection. The synth section is pretty punchy and the distinctive ‘CS’ resonant filter makes this a unique sounding instrument….al la CS50/60/80.
