This is a masterful example of a stratocaster reissue. No reissue of any kind will ever be a real vintage guitar. I'm sorry, this is just my personal experience and opinion. No custom shop, luthier built, road worn, especially relic'd will ever be a naturally aged wood instrument that has set over the years from honest human wear. Not happening. There are fantastic repros but when you reach for a true vintage guitar especially a pre CBS Stratocaster it is a different thing. Trust me. With that being said this Tokai to me does not feel exactly like a 1964 stratocaster but it does feel and sound like a great stratocaster should. One that pays homage to the golden age of stratocasters but of course has its own thing going on as well. The burst color though is spot on. She is in excellent condition. A beautifully made guitar. She has a nice thick soft v profile neck and grey bottom pups that sound super duper stratty. She is all original under the hood and in incredible condtion. This Tokai is an excellent example of the high level craftsmanship Japan was doing back in the day.
