This is a 1960 Leedy drum kit. The 14" x 22" bass drum and 9" x 13" tom was bought in Dec 28 1960 as a kit. The floor tom was added in Feb 1962. All 3 drums are original Leedy "Capri Pearl" How ever. the 22 and 13 has a slight purple hew(original) and the floor tom is more of a black. Very common for those days as kits were offered as a snare drum bass and mounted tom. Latter some people added a floor tom.Has Normal wear from use.Has a shrink crack in the wrap near the cymbal arm bracket on the bass drum. ( see picture # 12 ) Floor tom has a different variation of the same finish
These are BEAUTIFUL 3 ply Africian Mahogany/Poplar/Africian Mahogany with maple reinforcement rings/hoops shells. Rail consolate hot dog part has some chrome loss. The rest of the Chrome is very nice.with maybe some signs of light pitting. Both toms have original chrome over brass rims.( Depth x Head )14" x 22" bass drum - Has 20 original Leedy lugs, T-rods, claws, Rail consolate. Cymbal arm bracket. Original hoops are excellent. Both have original inlays. each hoop is missing a little inlay on the bottoms. 1 is missing 5" the other is missing 10" both are on the direct bottom. Has 2 Vintage white heads. Has leedy badge.9" x 13" tom - Has 12 Leedy lugs , tension rods. Original chrome over brass rims. Original muffler. Has its original Leedy calfskin head on the top and a clear Remo amb. head on the bottom. No badge on this drum or air vent. ( Badges only came on there snares and bass drums.16" x 16" floor tom - Has 16 Original lugs, tension rods, chrome over brass rims. 3 original legs and push button leg brackets. ( they work perfectly) Original muffler. Has its original Leedy calfskin head on the top ( HAS A SMALL HOLE IN IT THAT HAS A VINTAGE REPAIR. SEEMS FINE) and a clear Remo amb. head on the bottom.
