VERY EARLY JIMMY FOSTER GUITAR.
VERY RARE.
STUNNING.
RIP: Jimmy Foster passed away on April 26, 2011.

He was, and remains, in my opinion, one of the best guitar players and builders in the world. But more than that, he was a genuine music man. He lived his love of the guitar and the music that came from them in his loving hands. And that love of music comes forth in each and every guitar he has hand built.

I own several of his guitars in my collection and this is one of my favorites. It has, without any doubt, THE BEST PLAYING NECK of any guitar I own. When I put my hand on it, I think of the original Hagstrom's that had the "fastest neck in the industry". This neck is very thin and flat. You really must play it to appreciate how great it is.

Buy this guitar. It was one of his early electric solid body guitars and has a finish that is just stunning. But more than that, it plays so easily and produces an extraordinary tone coming from the perfect balance of electronics and wood.

ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT:From Jimmy Foster Guitar Page (public):About Foster Guitars:
Foster Jazz Guitars of New Orleans.
For nearly 40 years, I have been specializing in custom built, handmade 6-string and 7-string archtop guitars, acoustic flattop guitars, and solid body electric guitars. All of my jazz guitars and archtop guitars are made by hand and customized for you. - Jimmy FosterTHIS IS A PROFESSIONAL PLAYER GUITAR.

Jimmy was one of those rare expert luthiers who was an accomplished and experienced guitar player as well. He played them before he made them and now then he made them and played them. His love of music and the art of guitar design and craftsmanship is shown in each of his instruments. He only used the FINEST WOODS AVAILABLE FOR HIS GUITARS. And he was COMMITTED TO PERFECTION. And this is a PERFECT GUITAR.

It is SN: 045. Based on discussions with Jimmy, it is believed that he only built around seventy (70) of the F3 Model.

THE NECK. Of all the guitars I own, I believe this guitar has the THINNEST AND BEST PLAYING NECK. It is a flat back thin NECK that is a speed demon and lets you reach every note on the fingerboard. At the same time, the neck is lighter than most strat style guitars and that makes it easier, and more comfortable, to play.

THIS IS A STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL GUITAR. IT IS A PIECE OF ART.

About Us ABOUT TUNEYOURSOUND. Tune Your Sound Sound Your Tune Guitars make Sounds ! Guitar players make Tunes. But which guitar makes your Tune best? The beginning point in making a tune is You. The music in your head goes to your hands which form chords and notes. The end point is the Tune heard by those listening created by the Sounds of the instruments in between. Our job at TuneYourSound.com (TYS) is to fill in the middle. Or, in other words, "complete the chain". We are guitar players and collectors at TuneYourSound.com. Collectively we have personally owned and played over 1800 guitars. And we have seen guitar players play-from Jimi using his teeth to Jimmy using his bow. And now, we want to tell you what we have learned over the years and under the stages. First: There should be two primary guitars in your life. The one you start with (by choice or coincidence) and the one you finish with (once you find it, you'll know it and keep it). But of course, humans are acquisitive by nature, so we are prone to own more than we need-but a guitar player must have what he really needs. Two: Sometimes it's better for a guitar to be heard than seen and other times it's better for a guitar to be seen than heard. So, play it both ways. Buy a guitar that does both. Three: Avoid the hype. Especially now with the Internet overloading us with data. Buy a guitar that you trust from someone you trust. Four: Make it personal. Establish a relationship with your seller. That way you will never be disappointed-nor abandoned. After all, it is still about money-your money. And you deserve to get more than you give. At TuneYourSound.com, we have the answer!
