Offered for your bidding pleasure is a 1981 Fender Lead 1. Fender produced the Lead Series in the early 80's making a 1, 11 and 111 version. This is the Lead 1. Fender had problems with the bodies on these guitars as they did not sufficiently dry out the wood and a new finish they used did not "fit" the wood properly, as a result these early models often have a foggy appearance in spots, sometimes the entire body is foggy, and the finish cracks. These guitars function perfectly in every other way! They have become collectable for the finish. You can see the fog in the side body photos and a "crack" on the back from the neck plate to the bottom. The finish is otherwise excellent. All electronics function properly. Has a killer sound! Plays like butter! Neck is straight! Case is the higher quality Fender Tolex and is in excellent shape. All latches and hinges work well.
