This is a Bach Stradivarius Model 37 trumpet (serial number 7416). The bore of the horn is ML at .459". The bell is 4 7/8". The engraving is crisp and clean. This horn looks very nice and plays very well. The valves have good compression, show hardly any wear and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few small dings and a few small scratches. Unfortunately at some point the bell was replaced (my guess is in the late 1960s), so this horn has a "corporation" era bell. All the rest of the horn looks to be from the New York era. Unusually, this horn features a change valve in the tuning slide, enabling the player to convert the horn from Bb to A should the need arise. Finally, this horn has several small reinforcing patches on slide crooks and knuckles. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This trumpet comes with a mouthpiece in good condition, and a Bach hardshell case in quite good condition.All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N.
