Made in the USA in Fullerton, CA, these G&L instruments should not be confused with the lower-priced Tribute replicas made in Korea and/or Indonesia. In absolutely superb condition, this 26 year-old beauty is Leo Fender's aftrermarket-improvement model of his iconic Fender Stratocaster. Leo Fender claimed that his G&Linstruments were "the best instruments I have ever made."This is a signature series S-500, produced before the Fender guitar threatened to sue G&L and Leo Fender for the right to put Leo's own name on the guitar body. VERY SIMILAR in design to the Fender Stratocaster, the S-500 is built with MFD pickups and pickup switch options. A toggle switch enables combinations of the neck and bridge pickup, and all three pickups at once- not available on a Fender Strat. detailed specs include:- Body: Swamp Ash 2piece body, cherry sunburst finish; 12.5 ” widest, 17 ” long; 9.2 lbs• Neck: Hard Rock Maple hand carved; 25.5" scale: 3 Bolton engraved black plate: previous owner greatly reduced neck depth. it plays like a dream.• Fretboard: Maple, black pearloid inlaid position markers. 22 Frets 18 clear of body• Fret board width at nut = 1 5/8”; new bone nut Neck radius= 12”• Tuners: Sperzel locking tuners (6 inline); Gloss headstock w/decal logo• Pickups: 3 G&L Magnetic Field Design single coil pickups• Bridge: G&L Dual Fulcrum vibrato with chromeplated brass saddlelock bridge• Controls: position pickup selector plus minitoggle switch enabling additional pickup combinations of neck+bridge or all 3 pickups together, volume, PTB system• Chrome Hardware; 3ply White pickguard.
