Description BURNSBISON BASSTRUE ALBINO1962       VERY EARLY AMONG THE FIRST BUILTEXTREMELY RARE.VERY COLLECTIBLE.EXTRAORDINARY OPPORTUNITY. Note: We will ship this guitar internationally but you must get a quote from us first. MY BURNS GUITAR AFFLICTION.First, my bias. As an American having grown up in the 1960's-1970's, many of my friends find it odd that my most cherished brand of guitar in my collection is British. BURNS. Even though I respect and honor the creative genius of Leo Fender, his guitars were just functional. No more-no less. They were basic.  Jim Burns contemporaneously was too a creative genius. But his guitars were antithetical to Leo's. Maybe to the point where I would describe Jim as an "Artist" who "created" musical instruments and Leo as a "manufacturer of products that could be used to play music."I can remember the first time seeing a photo of the Burns Bison, 4pup guitar. It not only caught my eye, it captured my imagination. All of those authors selling books about a "tipping point", "Eureka moment", "imagination", et al could have just shown a photo of that guitar and saved a lot of paper (I now own 14 of those original 4pup Bisons). Jim Burns was a genius and his guitars were simply manifestations of those millions of creative flashes that moved through his whole brain-left and right sides. I understand this absolute affliction of affinity for Jim's guitars makes me a bit of an odd ball among collectors-but isn't that really the best way to be... different? Of course it is. I'll take creativity over function every day of the week.  Leo was the Engineer and Jim was the Architect. Over the next few weeks, I will be offering many of my "more unique" Burns (Baldwin, Shergold, Hayman..) pieces for sale on ebay. All Burns guitars are unique-but some are "more unique" than others. And having 200+ in my collection, I can assure you that I have a lot of the "more unique" pieces. And you guys in the UK, get a national holiday for Jim. He deserves it.NOTE: In response to several emails we have received about these incredible BURNS GUITARS we are offering to collectors, I want to offer these observations in answer to the question: WHY COLLECT BURNS GUITARS?MY RESPONSE: For those of us who have been collecting guitars for many years, we are seeing a shift in collectible value  from the "street brands" that appeal to the "market" to  those brands that are truly unique and even "niche" (as in a "distinct" segment of the market). How to explain this "shift"? I can't and no one else can. We can say that "new collectors" are entering the market who are looking to "catch the wave" for the next "big collectible"-and that is probably true. We can say that "new" and "old" collectors are finally recognizing the "true value" of the "off street brands" that are some of the best built and best sounding guitars in the whole market. Certainly that is true for Burns, Standel (Koontz), and several others. These builders were craftsman-not bench guys. Or maybe we collectors are becoming more savvy by diversifying our portfolios. You pick the answer that you like best and it will be correct. But I do know that 2012 is the YEAR OF THE BRITS. The Queen's DIAMOND JUBILEE featuring Sir Paul and Sir Cliff. The SUMMER OLYMPICS featuring Sir Paul and Sir Cliff will get in there somewhere. And the firm of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce (rip Lane), got the JAGUAR account-announcing the arrival of the XKE to America. And no guitar is MORE BRITISH THAN BURNS. It is the ICON. THIS GUITARThis is an absolutely fantastic BASS GUITAR. It is a "TRUE ALBINO" meaning that it has a WHITE FINISH and WHITE SCRATCHPLATE. The Serial Number is 1857-the earliest I have ever seen on a BISON BASS. It was built in very early 1962 I believe.Look carefully at the photos to evaluate its condition. I have claimed it to be a 7 (out of 10) simply because it looks that good given its age. It has the very common BURNS FINISH CRACKS (very apparent when you look at it), scratches, scraps, dents, yellowing, et al.  There are no breaks nor cracks. Everything works. Again, please know that this bass has been played and shows it. It was built to be played well and last forever. It's on the way there. It is a long scale bass guitar with three pickups. The HORNS on this model are very apparent and sometimes critical to prevent floor damage. I say that you can see handprints on the upper horn where players have grabbed it just before it hit the stage. I have done the same. Very convenient unintended safety feature. Has the usual cool FOUR CHOICES ON A 4 WAY SELECTOR KNOB-"Wildog", "Treble", "Tenor", and "Bass".Bridge/Tailpiece has individual adjustable saddles for string height, width, and length. Great option for alternate tunings. HAS ORIGINAL FLAT HEADSTOCK.THE BEST BURNS BASS. GREAT DEEP RESONANT TONE. THIS BODY GRABS THE SOUND VIBRATIONS AND HOLD THEM CLOSE AND TIGHT FOR A REAL LONG TIME. If Carol Kay had used this bass with the Beach Boys, the song would have been "Good, Good, Long Lasting Vibrations" and she would have been smiling all the time.

About UsABOUT TUNEYOURSOUND. Tune Your Sound Sound Your Tune Guitars make Sounds ! Guitar players make Tunes. But which guitar makes your Tune best? The beginning point in making a tune is You. The music in your head goes to your hands which form chords and notes. The end point is the Tune heard by those listening created by the Sounds of the instruments in between. Our job at TuneYourSound.com (TYS) is to fill in the middle. Or, in other words, "complete the chain". We are guitar players and collectors at TuneYourSound.com. Collectively we have personally owned and played over 1800 guitars. And we have seen guitar players play-from Jimi using his teeth to Jimmy using his bow. And now, we want to tell you what we have learned over the years and under the stages. First: There should be two primary guitars in your life. The one you start with (by choice or coincidence) and the one you finish with (once you find it, you'll know it and keep it). But of course, humans are acquisitive by nature, so we are prone to own more than we need-but a guitar player must have what he really needs. Two: Sometimes it's better for a guitar to be heard than seen and other times it's better for a guitar to be seen than heard. So, play it both ways. Buy a guitar that does both. Three: Avoid the hype. Especially now with the Internet overloading us with data. Buy a guitar that you trust from someone you trust. Four: Make it personal. Establish a relationship with your seller. That way you will never be disappointed-nor abandoned. After all, it is still about money-your money. And you deserve to get more than you give. At TuneYourSound.com, we have the answer!
