Nasville is blessed with world-class guitar players. They seem to be everywhere, and they make theirliving creating sound. When it comes to guitars, they don’t give a rip about cosmetics, reputation, pedigree, vintage, etc. For most, only 2 things matter: sound and feel. In that order. They own someof the best sounding, smoothest playing ugly guitars on planet Earth - right along side some of themost beautiful. If they have to choose between 2 guitars, they’ll close their eyes and listen. Whychoose blind? They’re in the sound business - little else matters. I’m selling this world-class jazz box because I can’t play anymore, (no cartilege in my thumbs). Now, before telling you about this guitar, I think you ought to hear it, and because I can’t play, I’lllet this YouTube video do the honors: https://youtu.be/J7fUQZKoncs  So just close your eyes andlisten. (Don’t miss the tasty version of “Willow weep for me” at the end).Next, please go to bennedetto.com Once you’re there, please click on Guitars, then Flagship Series, and lastly Fratello. Once you’re on the Fratello page, please notice the option to hear the instrument,so please listen with closed eyes - just as before.  Do you have a preference? Ignore the nameplates, do you prefer one over the other based onsound alone?Thank you for listening, now here’s why this little experiment is important:Eastman had been building hand-carved violins, cellos, and basses for many years when, in2001, they reached out to a customer of theirs, Bob Benedetto, for advice on how to makean archtop guitar. Due to a his contract with Fender, Bob could not actively help, but he suggestedEastman buy a copy of his book and video on the exact subject - how to build one. They did, andhave not deviated from Bob’s methods ever since. To this day, all Eastman guitars are built by hand EXACTLY as they were in the 30s. And they’re made from the EXACT materials found in the old Strombergs, D’Angelicos, Gibsons, and the like. Furthermore, they’re built EXACTLY as BobBenedetto instructs. Learn more here: https://youtube/IssLVC0CFDg.  Hell of a story. So, what’s really important here? WHERE it’s made, or HOW it’s made? Now, the guitar I’m selling is apparently Eastman’s version of the Benedetto Fratello because bothare made from the same materials, and constructed in exactly the same fashion. Very few differences.Does that make them equal? No. Reason? Many, starting here: Bob, (the individual), may have taught Eastman all they know, but he didn’t teach them all HE knows. I’ve never been to Eastman’s factory, but 3 years ago I did spend most of a day with Howard Paul at Benedetto’s facility in Savannah. Howard started me with the wood room - the first of many revelations. In there you’ll find tone woods that have been waiting 20, 30 YEARS and more to be made into a Benedetto. I got to play several instruments and drool over the rest. I got to meet some of the craftsmenwho create these masterpieces, ask questions, and hear the enthusiasm that seems to be everywhere.Benedetto combines breathtaking beauty with impeccably complex sound. They are the standad ofcomparison for archtops the world over. Now, a new Fratello costs $20,000, and a new 810ce costs some $2,600. Used? Mine’s a 2004 andit’s listed at $1,400, and coincidentally there’s a 2004 Fratello for sale on Reverb for $9,400.  Use Reverb’s search engine - enter Benedetto Fratello). So it comes down to what you’re looking for. My whole point is this: Either way, you’ll get a World-Class Jazz Box. I’ll be happy to answer questions, provide more pics, etc.  Thanks for looking, and God Bless.
