Original 1985 tokai tele. It was left to me by a relative. However I have to slim down my collection and as I already have my dream tele...This one has to go. This is without doubt an exceptional guitar. The tuners, neck plate, stamped full prospec bridge and neck heel all date this to the eighties period. The serial number when checking online dates it 1985. The only modifications to this guitar are the lace sensor pickups. ..which have got to be an Improvement. The switch and electrics all seem otherwise original. The three way switch is an obvious confirmation. UPDATE : the original pickups have been found and are now up for sale as a separate listing. If the guitar is purchased before the pickups sell, then I will inc them in the price of THIS sale. The body I believe has at some point been stripped to reveal what looks like a two piece centre joined body. I think it must have only been lightly refinished as its picked up this gorgeous patina which exudes the desired soft relic we all love. The neck is very clean and frets are good. neck is straight with no issues. Action is around 2mm at the twelfth fret and feels great to play. This is a very nice guitar. The sound when plugged in is sweet as any recorded tele you ever heard. The noiseless pickups are super clean and honky. This is a very well made example. Everything is perfectly alligned. There is no annoying string roll off, the bridge is perfectly square as to is the pick guard and control plate. To my mind this is as true to what a tele is meant to be as can be. Sincerely if I did not already have my dream tele id keep this. I simply do not have the space...and for it to be kept in its case nor getting played would be a sin. This guitar is a players tool and should be enjoyed every day.
