(See pictures)  It cosmetic and does not affect the playing at all.Guitar is setup with 10-46 strings and tuned to Standard 440.Additional Information:It is my opinion that this guitar would be an early Ontario production using what was left over from San Dimas.  The position of the "Made In USA" under the N of Jackson and the TM is one indicator of San Dimas.  When they switched to Ontario, the TM was replaced with the Registered symbol (the little R in a circle) and "Made In USA" was positioned after the Jackson logo.  According to , serial number 3534 would fall under a 1987 Ontario production.  However, both the neck and body has 7/22/86 and the Mike Eldred stamp.  Then written by hand is 7832 VPT FR, which I couldn't even tell you what that means.Based on what I found on the net (), Jackson moved to Ontario in 1986.  Here is a quote from that site."In 1985, Grover Jackson made a stock-for-stock trade in which he became a shareholder in International Music Co. (IMC) of Fort Worth, Texas, which then acquired the Jackson company. Under this new arrangement, Charvel guitars would be built in Japan under Jackson's supervision and Jackson guitars would continue to be built in Glendora (although the P.O. box of the former San Dimas site was still in use). The U.S. factory was moved to Ontario, Calif., in 1986."This is why I believe that the guitar is an early Ontario production using left over San Dimas parts. It is a great player and sounds great.  I would love to keep it in my collection, but it time to thin the herd, if you know what I mean. Not interested in trades
