Boosey & Hawkes Imperial BBb Tuba.19" bell, 4 valve compensating system. In satin silver finish with bright silver plated accents. The instrument has been professionally overhauled, internally chemically cleaned. Plus externally polished, to reach you in the very best condition. As the images show, this lovely old B&H Imperial BBb Tuba is in fantastic original condition. Showing no signs of plate wear & only a few very minor dings/dents as to be expected for any instrument of this age.To find one of these sought after Tuba's in this fantastic condition is rare. Specifications- 19" Bell, 4 valve compensating system. The one to have. This particular BBb Tuba play's exceptionally well, giving a big full tone right throughout the range. The serial number 673### dates the instrument to 1982 which is incredible as it looks & more importantly plays like a much much newer instrument. The valve's on the instrument can only be described as perfect, very light, quiet & responsive indeed, having received new springs, spring dampers, soft stops & felts.As can be seen in the images, the valves are in stunning condition. No plate wear , no pitting in any of the ports.We are also including a brand new gold plated Denis Wick Heritage 3 mouthpiece with this auction. The instrument comes in a brand new gig bag in perfect condition. Clearly this much sought after Boosey & Hawkes Imperial BBb Tuba has been very well cared for.
