Description
Brand: King Exact Year: 1936

Here we have a 1936 king liberty that is not only great condition, but plays just as good as it looks! The silver finish is original aside from the lead pipe, and shows very well with heavy wear only apparent in a few common areas. The horn is a satin finish, but has a shiny silver finish only in the area that is engraved. A gold wash bell is present, and makes way for a beautiful tone that could only be achieved with a horn of this vintage, and would make a good horn for the at home player or even an active performer. Here are a few things that I've done to the horn in my year of ownership: I pulled all slides and made them operational, had a decent amount of dent work performed by Tims music in sacramento california who also sonic cleaned the horn.  I also polished the instrument, and ground down a patch that was on the lead pipe and painted it. I have no clue as to why a patch was put in place because the metal was thick with no wear through and only had extensive wear to the silver finish. The original case comes with the horn , but the insides are torn out because I planned on restoring it. The shell is sturdy and could be an easy restoration if you decided to do so.  I've played this fine instrument at gigs, concerts, and even during my everyday practice. I've since played it so often, that I've worn through the silver I painted on the lead pipe and could care less because of its fantastic playing characteristics.  I'm a jazz player, and I prefer these old horns over their newer counterparts, and I'm only 16. They really are something to talk about! I hope you find your next instrument here on ebay whether it's this one or another of similar nature, happy bidding!
