Just picked up from the local guitar technician for a setup and new strings. It plays like butter A beautiful 1989 Fender Telecaster Plus Deluxe, Version 1, in Blue Burst finish. Comes with aftermarket hard guitar case. It does not have it's original tremolo bar (easy replacement), unfortunately. This is now known as the Jonny Greenwood guitar (of Radiohead, and has fantastic solo stuff too, most recently the Inherent Vice soundtrack). This is a monster of a guitar, with it's stacked Red Lace Sensors in the bridge and a blue Lace sensor in the neck. Super cool feature includes: USA Strat Trem. The guitar is in terrific condition. The Plus Deluxe was only made for two years: "In the 1989-90 run, another model of the Telecaster Plus was put into production, called the Fender Telecaster Plus Deluxe, which was identical to the regular Telecaster Plus and featured the same pickup configuration (humbucking Red/Red Lace Sensor Dually in the bridge and Blue Lace Sensor single-coil in the neck) except from the addition of a pop-in whammy bar, Schaller locking machine heads and a Wilkinson roller nut (changed to LSR in 1993)". It does have some minor cosmetic use, playing scratches, and minor dings. Minor finish wear amd a finish crack on back of neck (as seen in last photo) is common and is from age. From the naked eye, it shows strikingly beautiful. The electronics are sound. I know these don't come around often, not this nice, and pretty. And the frets only use minor use. There is plenty of life on them. The previous owner was not a "touring pro player" per se, and so this was a bit of a closet queen. Her name is MEAN JEAN! For the money this is a tremendous vintage guitar USA fender investment. For the guy looking for the "modern telecaster" THIS IS IT!
