Feast your eyes and ears on this one-of-a-kind beauty! This guitar started life as a 2002 Gibson ES-137P. The guitar was professionally stripped and refinished by Seta Guitars with what we're calling the "Mad Max" finish. It's kinda post-apocalyptic, looking like rusted steel. Of course it's just paint, but it's very convincing. Quite frankly, it's just bad a$$! It's finished with instrument-grade nitrocellulose lacquer with a satin sheen. The silly-looking ES-137 script logo on the headstock was removed as well so we could give it a matching finish, and while we were at it we added a real Mother-of-Pearl Gibson logo inlay. (The pickguard is included, however it is not present in most of the pics as we think it looks better without.)The finish on the neck is original. There is some mild lacquer checking where the neck meets the fretboard (see pic). This is typical and purely cosmetic. The back of the headstock reveals the original tuner screw holes, but you have to really look to find them. There is also some mild wear on this original paint, but believe me—no one will be looking at the back of the neck on this one!We gutted all the electronics, and replaced the stock pickups with brand new Lindy Fralin Noiseless P-90s (with the stock winding). Man, they sound incredible! Pure P-90 tone and zero noise. Simply glorious tone. Very resistant to feedback, except when you want it. All of the pots, caps and wiring were replaced with high-end vintage-spec parts. The stock tuners were replaced with Kluson 18:1 locking keys. These are brand new. The bridge and tailpiece are original and are in excellent condition. So while this guitar has had a major cosmetic and electronic makeover, the bones and basic structure of the guitar were unaltered. It's still a Gibson. The neck is straight, and it's been set up with low action and plays like butter with no buzzing. There have been no breaks or repairs on this guitar. We don't sell guitars that we wouldn't play. This guitar has serious, serious mojo. There is nothing else like it out there, and it's the first archtop Seta Guitars has ever done. It's a work of art that plays and sounds as good as it looks, hot-rodded with top-quality components that make it one monster guitar.Weight: 7lbs., 9 oz.Thanks for looking!
