Fender paid homage to the 1964 Stratocaster at the Winter 2009 NAMM with this Custom Shop Limited 1964 Relic Stratocaster Vintage White. Only 150 were made in total in three colours, including 50 in aged vintage white. This is a guitar with tons of vibe and music store "wow" that typically you’d only find on a Master build. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better Stratocaster anywhere. If you’ve ever played a real vintage Fender, you know that most have a buttery, "worn in" feel to them. This one has all of that vibe, as well as the tone that guitars made yesterday just don't have. Fender has been doing this for a long time, and they definitely outdid themselves on this one!The features of the Fender Custom Shop Limited 1964 Relic Stratocaster Vintage White:• Bone nut • Three custom-wound Master-built overwound Fat ’50s single-coil Strat pickups, producing hotter output • Relic finish, simulating years of natural wear and tear, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts• Hardshell caseThe specifications include:• Body: Select Alder • Neck: Plain Grain Maple, 1965 “C” Shape (Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish) • Fingerboard: Dark Indian Rosewood, 9.5” Radius (241 mm) • No. of Frets: 21 Dunlop® 6105 Narrow Jumbo Frets • Pickups: 3 Master Built Overwound Fat ‘50s Single-Coil Strat® Pickups• Controls: Master Volume, Tone 1. Neck Pickup • Bridge: American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo • Machine Heads: Fender®/Gotoh® Vintage Style Tuning Machines • Hardware: Nickel/Chrome • Pickguard: 3-Ply Mint Green • Scale Length: 25.5” (648 mm) • Width at Nut: 1.650” (42 mm) I bought this new from Wildwest Guitars in Hollywood, CA, for $3999.99 and played it once and then put it in its case where it’s stayed until now. I simply prefer my Telecaster.Check out Mike Eldred of the Fender Custom Shop taking it through its paces on YouTube (see last pic for info).Photos are of the item for sale. From a smoke- and pet-free home. No returns, sorry, so please study the above information carefully and feel free to contact me with any questions prior to bidding. Anyone seriously interested is welcome to come and try the guitar if they are close to the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY. Serious inquiries only, please. Many thanks. Please check out other items ...
