wow...rock and roll, jazz blues guitar..A very nice vintage Japan made, specifications of Martin, Vega (Rare) Les Paul style guitar. Brown chestnut color with an unbelievable sustain- crunchy distortion sound. DiMarzio super distortion pick ups , all switches work, and this guitar is about 34-35 years old.Body is mahogany with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The price of this guitar is based on the rareness of this guitar, quality, and the incredible sound and sustain it has. Solid body makes it somewhat heavy but well built. There are a few little marks, mostly very small and on the back of the body. One small knick on the headstock, but that is common for a guitar from this era and age. Martin guitars owned the name of Vega around this time but then the guitars started being made in S. Korea and Japan so it is believed that Martin sold the rights to the Vega name. Vega is still a company today but sell banjos only I believe. This guitar plays professional and sounds identical to a vintage Les Paul standard that I once owned. This guitar has a case - 40.00 value... I can mail this guitar in a thicker black padded case, then shipped in a strong box with air pillows.x-tra padding ! If you buy this guitar the shipping arrangements should be agreed to by both parties. Please know that this guitar has been owned by me since 1981. Amazing distortion and tone / a perfect stage guitar.Plays jazz nicely too. I really enjoyed owning this as it has performed with me at live events. Its really an amazing instrument. You can bend notes and it stays in perfect tune. The tuning keys work great. The guitar is all original -They were only made for about 4 - 5 years. There is a Japan marking on this guitar and those guitars were much better made than the lighter Korean versions; and much more collectible. The exact year of the guitar is a little unclear they were made from 1979-80 to 1984-85, there was a serial number sticker on the guitar neck (back) at one time ( from what Ive learned about these) but it has fallen off or was removed a long time ago. I dont know if there is a serial number internally. I bought this guitar around 1981-82 and it was a about a year old at the time. 50.00 Shipping is for domestic shipping within the U.S.A only lower 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii may be more.
