Up for sale, a 2004 Fender '75 vintage reissue Jazz Bass reissue in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the more rare and upscale Jazz Bass models produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (and now discontinued), this "Crafted in Japan" model features a bound fretboard with pearloid block inlay, and most importantly, factory installed USA Fender pickups! Weighing in at 9lbs 8oz, there's a strong fundamental punch and sustain to the tone, and the low end is thick and focused. There's a growl and clarity to the bridge pickup, which is balanced by the fuller thump of the neck position single coil, but naturally many of the instrument's best tones come from finding the perfect blend between the two. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazz Bass is strung with 45-100 roundwound strings and has been dialed in for optimal action and intonation. The one-piece maple neck has a medium C shaped profile that borders on the chunkier side of things, with big shoulders and a smooth gloss finish. The bound rosewood fretboard has virtually flawless stock medium jumbo frets, and the nut is a hand-carved piece of bone measuring 1 1/2" in width. The headstock features full size vintage-style Fender tuners with clover buttons and a block Jazz Bass logo with Q prefix serial number. All of the electronics work as they should, with a pair of the same pickups used on Fender's American Standard Jazz Bass line. The chrome control plate and bridge have plenty of shine, and the plastic parts are in great shape, with only a few light scratches in the pick path on the three-ply black pickguard. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well-kept instrument with a few finish chips and nicks on the edges of the body. The only chip of note is on the side of the treble side body horn. The Olympic White finish is nice and bright with only the faintest yellowing of the clear coat. This discontinued Jazz Bass was exclusive to the Japanese market and rarely seen outside its country of origin! With premium features and a pair of factory-installed USA-made pickups, it's a testament to the build quality and attention to detail of Fender Japan's vintage reissue instruments.
The original Fender gigbag is included.
