PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION AND SEE ALL PHOTOS BEFORE BIDDING.
I bought it like this and I'm selling it like this- as is.
I purchased the guitar with the intention of refinishing properly to 60's spec but I'm never going to have the time.
This is originally a 2001/2002 Fender Designer Series Telecaster and they were US only- a special run made for Guitar Centre.
RRP was $1499 so WAY more expensive than a US standard.
This particular model originally had a silver sparkle finished body and a black faced headstock- photo from internet just for illustration.
Over time someone cheaply refinished the body in sort of an arctic white, lightly reliced it, sanded the headstock fascia back down to bare wood and applied a 50's decal and string tree.
All of the hardware has been changed to aged stock, a four way switch added and I was told upgraded with Custom Shop Nocaster 51 pickups. The fretboard is a really nice rosewood with clay dot markers and 22 frets.
Anyway the guitar plays, feels and sounds epic to me. The fourth switch position gives a really good humbucker tone. Nicely balanced and solid but not too heavy for a Tele. Apart from the relicing it is in excellent condition with only a couple of very small knocks to the back of the neck.
I've had the frets dressed and leveled along with a set-up and it's fantastic. Ready to use and abuse!
100% genuine premium model fender- just been messed with quite a lot. One for the player not the collector.
