Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass Custom Shop Limited Edition    When I played this Jack Casady bass I came away saying that this bass is truly amazing.  The difference between the pickup in this bass and those in other bass guitars make all the difference in the world.  If you want a truly unique, special bass, get the Jack Casady Signature. Here is what Epiphone says about the Jack Casady Limited Edition Bass:The Jack Casady Signature Bass was designed by Casady in collaboration with Epiphone and is the culmination of years of experimentation by the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna bassist to find an instrument with superb, balanced electric tone and the response of an acoustic bass.  All I can say is "Mission Accomplished". The Jack Casady features a maple body with a maple top.  The hand-set mahogany neck has a 34" scale with a rosewood 12" radius fingerboard, a 1.62" nut, and Jack's signature on the headstock. "I went to work on the pickup and it took almost two years to develop" says Casady.  The result is a JCB-1 low impedance, low output pickup that employs a three-postion transformer to shape the frequency response.  "They blow the old Gibson's to smithereens, even in the construction," says Casady.  "The workmanship that's coming in on these instruments is just super." The Casady features nickel hardware, classic style tuners, and a 3-point adjustable bridge exactly like the hall of famer uses on stage.  Casady insisted that his own personal basses should be no different that any Jack Casady Signature that you find in a store.  "I have none that are set up a special way or anything like that and they are great," says Casady. This bass weighs 7.6 pounds. What was refurbished on this bass?
There is a small finish blemish on the back of the bass.  I have included a picture pointing to it but it is too light to show.  Because it is so minor the refurbisher just left it alone, all they did was a set up. **The pictures are the actual bass that you will receive** Here is how much cash you will save!

  FAQ, frequently asked questions
Why are instruments sent to a refurbisher?  The instrument could be a discontinued model, have a finish imperfection, or need a minor repair.Who refurbishes your instruments?  All of my instruments come from the largest and best refurbisher in the country, where any issue found is corrected by a factory trained and authorized luthier.Does a refurbished instrument have the manufacturer warranty?  No, any instrument sent to a refurbisher, regardless of the reason it was sent there, no longer carries the manufacturer warranty. Will I need to set up my instrument when I receive it?  All of my instruments have been set-up before shipping, so most are ready to play out of the box.  However some instruments may need a minor adjustment after shipping due to changes in temperature, humidity, and  getting bumped around during shipping. What identifies an instrument as being refurbished?  All refurbished instruments have a small used stamp on the back of the head stock and are issued a new serial number.  This is to prevent an unethical dealer from concealing the fact that the instrument was sent to a refurbisher.
