Hi everyone and thanks for looking at my latest auction. Up for sale is a VERY RARE AND COLLECTABLE 1986 Fender blue floral stratocaster - made in japan. Standard guitar with no mods it's all original. Everything works as expected. Neck is straight, frets have plenty of life left, action is low, guitar plays like butter. Killer spanky strat tone and really sounds awesome either unplugged or through an amp. This guitar really resonates in your hands. Basswood body with maple neck. This is one of the 80's blue flower Strats which was a remake of designs originally produced by Fender in 1968. The design is actually contact paper under the clear coat. I think it was made by DuPont. The E series (1984-87) MIJ Stratocasters were modeled after a 1972 Strat, with 3 bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod, and large headstock. Not to be confused with the cheaper, second series that were marked "crafted in japan" and modelled after a later year Strat, with a 4 bolt neck plate, and smaller headstock. These 1980s MIJ Blue Flower and Pink Paisley Strats and Teles are becoming very rare and collectable, as they should due to their rare finish, and excellent build quality. It's got a lovely comfortable "D" shaped profile with a 9.5 radius. The neck is fitted with 21 narrow vintage style 6105 frets. I'm an experienced pro luthier and have been building guitars from scratch for over 20+ years check out http://fendersrock.com for more information. I've just given her a once over. The guitar passed all tolerance tests first time, nothing needed adjusting and I can confidently say she really does play as well as possible. All frets are level and the electrics work perfectly. The instrument stays in tune like you wouldn't believe. Issues:- see pics - paint has been touched up on the edge of the cutaway where your arm rests on the body. Apart from this the condition for the guitar is excellent for an instruments that's over 30 years old!!! There are a few marks here and there but noting else that could be considered "serious". There is a crack in the headstock originating from where the high E tuner screw has been fitted. The crack has not got any worse over the past twenty years and seems to have settled. It's never caused me any issues but needs a mention. It's only on the back of the headstock and cannot be seen from the front, I estimate it's 0.5 - 1mm deep. Comes with padded gig bag and trem bar. Postage is for insured next day delivery. Check out my feedback as I've sold over two hundred guitars on eBay now so please feel free to bid with confidence. Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions you may have before the auction closes. Try before you buy is welcomed as is local pickup on collection. International bidders are welcomed. Many Thanks for looking and good luck.
