2003 Gibson Les Paul R9 Washed Cherry (Reissue 1959 Les Paul - Custom Shop)

There have been lot's of great guitars throughout Gibson's long and rich history as a maker of musical instruments, but there is only one instrument that can be regarded as the pinnacle of electric solid body guitar design. That guitar is of course the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard. Worshipped by both players and collectors as the ultimate example of the perfect combination of playing comfort, beautiful looks and tone, the iconic 1959 Les Paul Standard is second to none. This guitar is and always will be the Holy Grail of guitars in the minds of professionals and collectors all over the world. This R9 reissue built in 2003 pays the ultimate homage to the legendary original. It ticks all the boxes with it's mahogany body, truly breathtaking Flamed Hard Maple top Washed cherry finish. The true magic of this guitar is in its neck, which has an unusual perfect flame in its mahogany, really rare and stunning. It features a rosewood fretboard, trapezoid inlays and the burstbuckers bringing the 1959 Les Paul sound. Guitar was purchased the guitar from Mark's Guitar Loft around 2005, the first owner having purchased it from Wild West Guitars in '03. The weight is 8lbs. 14ounces on my digital scale. The guitar is in good condition but has a bit of wear: (scratches, worming, buckle rash on back- some finish chips) (neck is relatively clean with a few dings most notable the one through the finish around the 9th fret: Both strap button holes have been plugged with mahogany plugs and the original strap buttons reinstalled.
