The Les Paul was kicked into high gear during the '60's when the updated 1958-1960 Les Paul Standards became the “standard” for legendary rockers including Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, Peter Green and so many others. In honor of their 120th Anniversary, Gibson proudly presented the Les Paul Peace, paying homage to the decade that made the Les Paul a rock 'n' roll icon.This unplayed 2014 Les Paul Peace, in a peace inspired Peaceful Orange gloss finish, is crafted from the classic solid mahogany/maple tone wood combination. The carved AA figured maple top on the Les Paul Peace is reminiscent of those perfectly book-matched figured maple tops on the coveted Les Paul Standards of the late '50's/early '60's. However, unlike those first Standards, which had a completely solid backs, the mahogany back of the Les Paul Peace employs the traditional weight relief rout. The glued-in mahogany is carved into the slim '60's profile and is topped off with a bound rosewood fingerboard that houses 22 undercut frets to expand your playing surface and have undergone a cryogenic treatment to combat corrosion for a long-lasting fret life, both part of the 120th anniversary features. The fingerboard has traditional trapezoid inlays and a commemorative 120th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret. This Les Paul Peace also boasts a “Peace” engraved stop bar tailpiece with peace-sign studs complemented by a tune-o-matic bridge for enhanced sustain and resonance. The package is completed by vintage cream binding, pickup mounting rings and pick guard, groovy tie-dye peace-sign knobs and the superior protection of a custom hemp-covered hard-shell case with a peace symbol and tie-dye interior Equipped with a set of Gibson '61 humbuckers that are wound with unbalanced coils, the 2014 Les Paul Peace delivers the edge, depth and bite of those vintage PAF humbuckers. These pickups come wired through a traditional control complement; with independent volume and tone controls with Orange Drop tone caps and a 3-way toggle. The Gibson 120th Anniversary additions include an enlarged, no-slip strap buttons for the ultimate security throughout your performance, a black GraphTech nut, long-life proprietary coated guitar strings and a full PLEK setup.This performance ready 2014 Les Paul Peace comes loaded straight out of the factory with the on board Min-ETune, an automated tuning system that allows the player to choose between any of the 12 factory tunings or 6 user presets.
