Vintage original Harry Volpe Electric Archtop is a 1955-57 serial number 69360, I really don't know for sure which of these it is, but it is definitely one of those years. It is a super rare guitar, super rare pickup.  One of the rarest Epiphone guitars made.  Harry Volpe's prolific career as a performing Jazz guitarist, teacher, and guitar endorser culminated in the the creation of his signature Epiphone archtop. Approached by Epiphone in what would be their final years as an independent company, Volpe drafted specifications for a guitar suited to both the professional and novice player. The 15-1/4" Maple laminate lower bout with a 3-1/3" depth are a comfortable dimension for just about any sized player. Add to that a 1-3/4" nut with a 50's Gibson-style full C neck profile and suddenly a C7 flat-5 isn't so daunting. The guitar has enough bite to unsettle the mellowest jazz cafe and excite the darkest blues house. This guitar is full of amazingly warm, round, woody hollowbody tone.   It has some nicks and dings, there are some spots where it looks as though binding was repaired, one tuner is slightly bent, typical things for a guitar this age that has been played. I have tried to show flaws in pictures, the back of the guitar has some finish off by binding. I just had my guitar tech check it out and he put new round wound strings on it. The pick guard is in the case but it is well worn. Comes with a vintage era case. Shipping in continental U.S. will be $65.00
