Vintage Rack Mounted Presto/Bogen/ RP-2 Tube Mic Preamp Completely Restored with an original RPK-1 Rack Mount . Two Channel Presto Bogen Microphone Pre Amplifier completely restored great sounding preamp.
Presto designed this is the 50's and when Bogen/Lear Siegler bought Presto they changed the cosmetics of the preamp. The original Presto was green cabinet with a round meter.
Bogen keep the same circuit, tubes and transformers ( input T-155 ) changed the cabinet to gray with a square meter.
This RP-2 has the very rare RPK-1 rack mount with a meter cutout added.All new coupling caps , filter caps, poteniometers and grounded AC cord. NO little problems.
In studio ready condition , bench tested and restored , This RP-2 I'm selling is in ready to use condition with XLR in and out.
It uses all octal tubes ( see photos) a 6SF5 on the input , shock mounted a 6J5 and another 6SF5 on the output.
The rectifier is a 6X5GT. This RP-2 uses 3 triode tubes with no negative feedback loop.
The RP-2 has been completely gone through. All new electrolytic caps and PIO vintage coupling caps. (Sprague,Westcap, Vitamin Q ect.) resistors checked to be within tolerance.
The unit was tested and checked with my Audio Precision Analyzer .
It is quiet and sound fantastic.
