Model: Stratocaster Road Worn

Here's a guitar that is truly much more than the sum of its parts. This was the only stratocaster I played for the last year and was pretty much my main guitar. It's beautiful, unique colored, and best of all, has that beautiful ballsy, chimney, and complex 50's stratocaster tone in spades, and it is very loud and musical, yet resonant, unplugged too. Not only does it feel much more alive than most guitars when played, but it sustains with the best too. I'm only selling because I'm going to be buying a vintage guitar soon and need to finance that. It started its life as a Fender Road worn stratocaster. I loved the pickups, tone, and the feel, shape, and playability of the neck, but the guitar didn't feel as "alive" as I'd want a number one guitar to, so I made a series of nest upgrades that made this the best playing strat I've owned. The classic 50's sound comes from a maple neck paired with a swamp ash body. Fender road worn stratocasters use alder for some reason, and I discovered that this was what kept these guitars from really sounding like those from the 50's. I was able to get a lightweight (3.7 pounds) swamp ash body finished in 50's era-correct nitrocellulose lacquer from MJT guitars, a very highly rated custom shop in Missouri often considered to be on par with Fender custom shop. Their lacquer has the "feel" and of the old stuff, and is so close to it chemically, according to Mark Jenny, that it must cure for weeks, unlike the catalytically hardened fake lacquer that Fender custom shop uses. This lacquer coat is much thinner and more flexible than anything from Fender or a mass produced source, and it really made the entire guitar come to life. The ash body provides that 50's "snap" and spank to the tone that you just don't get from alder on a typical road worn strat. The stock cheap metal tremolo block was upgraded to a vintage-spec brass block from KGC. These blocks are made from the very best brass, designed for musical instruments to increase sustain and provide a musical tone. Watch all the YouTube videos on brass trem blocks and read the reviews for KGC blocks. In short, combined with the MJT body, this guitar became more "alive-feeling" than any strat I've owned before. The cheap Mexican-made input jack was swapped with a USA-made Fender vintage reissue jack.Everything else was kept stock. The neck is really comfortable, and that's why a lot of people love the road worn strats. This is seafoam green, a very rare color that was actually used on vintage Fender guitars, and it goes very well (in my opinon, of course) with all the other components, for a unique yet vintage-accurate look. The guitar had a full professional setup done by a professional luthier at maple street guitars in Atlanta. The action is quite low and big bends of a step and a half are no problem. It's a pretty remarkable setup for a vintage-spec stratocaster, actually. The neck plate is the stock Fender one that came with the guitar, not the custom one pictured. Frets don't show any wear.If you have any questions, please let me know
