Year: c. 1965-66Make: AirlineModel: Jetsons SolidbodyColor: SunburstCondition: Very GoodWeight on my scale: about 7.5 poundsCase: Newer Padded Gig BagHere is a wonderful oddity; an original 1966 Airline “Jetsons” Model SOLIDBODY six-string! I am clearing things out of my studio – just have too many cool things that don’t get used much, and so should find new homes where they will get the attention that they deserve!I don’t really have a lot of information about this guitar – it seems fairly hard to find any. I have seen this referred to as either a “Jetsons” model, or a “Jetsons” style Town and Country. Not sure which is correct, but you can see from the pictures what I’m talking about.Every picture I’ve seen of these shows them with a large black plastic cover screwed onto the back, which covers up a bunch of very large holes designed to reduce weight. This on has neither the plate, not the holes, and never did. It’s not exactly light, but not heavy either – according to my scale (see pic), it weighs about 7.5 pounds.  Feels about like a medium-light Stratocaster. The pickup and electronics are all original, and this guitar screams! These pickups look like humbuckers, but are actually single coils under large “humbucker” covers. This thing sounds more like a really great P-90, which is to say it sounds GREAT.Really not much else to say about the other than its in good shape with some honest players’ wear, and has a nice chunky neck that is straight and true. Two things to mention: this guitar had really worn out frets, and so has been professionally re-fretted with nice vintage-style tall/narrow fretwire, and has not really been played much since. BASICALLY, THE FRETS ARE BRAND NEW WITH NO WEAR, AND SO HAVE A WHOLE LIFETIME AHEAD OF THEM. Also, the tuners were shot and have been replaced with new, correct Kluson replacements.THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET A WHITE-STRIPES-STYLE AIRLINE THAT WAILS FOR A REASONABLE PRICE!As I said, it is difficult to find any information on these, so if you guys out there know anything, please feel free to enlighten me!The fine print:MUST RECEIVE PAYMENT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE AUCTION’S COMPLETION; BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING FROM ANCHORAGE, AK VIA EITHER USPS PRIORITY OR USPS EXPRESS MAIL (BUYER’S CHOICE).
