Brand: Martin Size: Soprano

Very desirable and rare dreadnought body shape Oliver Ditson ukulele. Made by CF Martin circa 1925 for sale at the Ditson store in New York. This Style 0 is one of the last Ditsons made - it has the Martin stamp on the back of the headstock and the Ditson stamp in the soundhole, something that changed in the summer of 1925 when Harry Hunt wrote a letter to Martin requesting the change. Martin only made about 530 dreadnought Style 0 models for Ditson. This Ditson was owned by an Army veteran who wrote his name on the case, as well as his initials "HSL" on the back of the headstock to mark his property. The original canvas carrying case is included with the ukulele. Original patent peg tuners with black buttons. Overall condition is very nice with some light wear from use and age. There is one long repaired crack on the back, and a short one on the top, all done with hot hide glue. Professionally set up with Martin M600 strings to sound and play great.
