Offered for sale is a beautiful 1983 Dan Smith-era Stratocaster! This is black and totally original (I changed the pickguard only to ensure the original wasn't damaged, if the jack takes a knock it is likely to crack the plate, but the original will be included with the sale), and comes with the original hard case and correct trem arm. Soft v neck, beautiful player, pickups with beautiful clarity and excellent cut when broken up. Sounds awesome through a Deluxe Reverb! 3 owners since new, neck dated 01 Aug 1983. Fantastic cosmetic condition for age (nearly 34 years old!), but has some slight scrapes. I had to take photos with the flash for these to be seen. Has been recently set up (about a year ago, full fret dress) and will be restrung before sale, but could do with another minor setup. Has some buzzes and the open high e sounds a bit funny, but cutting the end off a G string and putting this in underneath cures the problem.These guitars are somewhat famously referred to as 'cost-cutter' or '2-knob' strats, but are made with the same materials and pickups as the sought-after 1982 models. The guitar has a tremolo but the strings are mounted underneath the pickguard rather than on the back, so the back is beautifully smooth and there's a bit more wood (they're a little bit heavier).I will ship this item overseas but will not use eBay's GSP.
