1972 Vintage Rickenbacker 480 Burgundyglo!
~~Comes w/Original Bridge Cover and Newer Hardshell Case!~~ Up for auction is a super nice and rare 1972 vintage Rickenbacker 480 in the original Burgundyglo finish ~~ one of the most unique Rics out there!This is the earliest model as the first year of production of the 480 is commonly listed as being 1973 but a few guitars such as this predate that.All original and complete featuring dual Hi Gains pickups that deliver trademark Ric tone, 1972 dated pots. Original bridge cover is included as well.Sharing the same body shape as a 4001/4003 bass, the 480 is very comfortable to play. The cresting wave body shape is appealing and will elicit several double takes from musicians as they wonder a “a 4001 guitar?” This Rick is in FANTASTIC cosmetic condition ~~ CLEAN!
Showing some minor play wear, and some light finish checking at the tuners.No breaks or cracks. Nice action with no string buzz. The original frets show only minor wear. This guitar is amazing! Fantastic tone - really good for getting a sharp British sound that can cut through. Plenty of meat when switched to the rhythm.
The bridge pick-up is absolutely killer! I'd put it up against any Strat or Tele bridge pick-ups I've heard! MADE IN USA SERIAL: LJ XXX
