Weymann Highest Quality Banjo I did some internet searches and I found out some information on the company and looked through the catalogs for it but could not find it. I saw one like this one that sold for $500 on reverb and the ad said made in 1926. I saw another ad asking $2000 for the same thing and said it was made prior to 1910. I don’t know how to price it so I am pricing at $1000 and will entertain any serous offer.
I am a classical guitar luthier and know zero about banjos. I will describe the best I can but you should relay on the pictures. I do not see any cracks other than on the surface of the heal. It does not have an inlay of a diamond on the truss rod extension like others two examples on reverb. It has the number 8236 on the rod extension in the body. Some of MOP inlays are missing on the fretboard. The drum was replaced with plastic. There might have be reinforcement to the head that is not there because there are 4 small holes in near the machines.
