Here for sale is this original Japanese made Ibanez PF 230. Its had a life and been played but still plays really nicely and sounds great - details and pics below. Serial number dates it to December 1978.It has 3 Super 70 humbuckers which I think are just about my favorite sounding Humbucker going, it has 3 volume controls and a master tone and a 3 way switch which is up - neck pickup , middle - middle and bridge pickup , down , bridge pickup.Many small marks, dings and signs of use.Missing scratchplate and holes in the body from where this was originally mounted.The guitar had been incorrectly rewired when I bought it, this was due to the original switch failing at some point in the past and a previous owner incorrectly wiring in a standard 3 way switch. I had my repairman replace the switch with the correct type for a 3 humbucker guitar and professionally sort out the wiring, this cost £35 inc the switch.There are many small dings, scrapes , bumps and chips around the body and edges of this guitar - its in used , roadworn , reliced condition.There is some fretwear but plenty of life left in themOne screw on the electrics cavity and the switch cavity cover are non original.Usual age related tarnishing to the metal parts.The guitar was restrung with 10s and the fretboard oiled and it plays well with a low action.Usual neck pocket lacquer cracksmany bolt on neck guitars suffer from - purely cosmetic and by the looks of it have been like that for many years. There is also some lacquer cracks around the switch.Rare is an over used word on ebay but I think its fair to say there are not too many of these about.No case but will be well packaged for shipping.Check out the full size pics below.
