1998 Fender Custom Shop NOS '65 Stratocaster I once owned a 1963 Strat that I bought new. I later traded it for a ’56 Strat that was stolen. So in order to re-capture the essence of my old ’63 I bought this fantastic 1998 re-issue ’65.  The thin skin nitro and great tri-burst color of this guitar matched my old guitar exactly. This is an early CN serial number that proceeded the R-relic numeric series. Workmanship is Custom Shop worthy with much attention to detail.  The burst is one of the nicest I've seen.
It has hotter, full bodied custom shop pickups which sound dead on to the original 60’s era Strats.  Meaty and fat, very unique sounding pickups.  DC resistance is in the 5.6k range for vintage sound. Fender did a great job of capturing the early vintage vibe with the ’65 NOS guitars. One of its outstanding features is the somewhat wider tapered neck, which is highly coveted by blues players.  It has a full profile, thicker down the middle but very comfortable to play.  Mother of Pearl dots on fretboard have a simple, old time look. This guitar sounds, looks, and plays incredibly. Great low end.    Weighs 7.8 lbs.  Contour hugs the body nicely.   It is factory aged.  It has some nicks, bumps, cool aging, and pick scratches on this guitar because it's been played since 1998, but nothing unusual.  Through the years the thin skin nitro has settled nicely into the body giving this guitar a very vintage, authentic appearance.  See Pics. Includes whammy/vibrato bar and tweed hard shell rectangular case. Fender re-issued Certificate of Authenticity included.  The Fender Authorized Technician who inspected it thought it was super clean and in excellent condition.  Frets are in great shape. Please let me answer your questions before you bid.NO RETURNS.  Please ask any questions before bidding and I will be glad to get right back to you.   Check out the others guitars I have up for sale.  This one is a beauty and a real unique guitar as well as a collectors item.  1998 was the best year for the '65 reissue.
