Vintage Danelectro Built Silvertone Bass Guitar with Hardshell CaseSCROLL DOWN FOR MORE LARGE PHOTOSHere is a very clean Danelectro made Silvertone model 1444 bass guitar. The pots have late 1960 date codes so I suspect it was made that year, or perhaps 1961. It's an unusually nice example and it appears to be 100% original. This model features a single cutaway body finished in black with white vinyl trim. It has one great sounding 'lipstick tube' pickup and controls for volume and tone. It has metal button Kluson Deluxe tuners, which I think are only found on early examples of this model. It's in excellent shape for its age. The finish shows some small marks and dings but nothing large, and no cracks or repairs. There is also a little playing wear on the neck finish like you see on older Danelectro stuff. I have only lightly cleaned the guitar so there is some mild dust and dirt on the vinyl edges that I'm sure would clean up. The hardware is clean and everything is in good working order. The action is comfortable and the frets don't show much wear. The bass is lightweight and easy to play. It comes with the original hardshell case which is in good shape, too. I'm including plenty of clear, close up photos that will accurately show you the cosmetic condition. I should mention that black guitars are always hard to photograph and this one was no exception. Some weird glare and reflections showed up on the photos, so any large white streaks or spots you may see is just that, not something actually on the guitar. U. S.
